{"id":80,"date":"2020-01-27T00:02:48","date_gmt":"2020-01-27T00:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/204.48.22.247\/?page_id=80"},"modified":"2020-01-27T14:56:48","modified_gmt":"2020-01-27T14:56:48","slug":"cptsd-checklist-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cultedchild.net\/?page_id=80","title":{"rendered":"CPTSD CHECKLIST"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul><li>Judith Lewis-Herman, Complex-PTSD Symptoms:&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Interpersonal problems:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>\uf06f social and interpersonal avoidance (avoiding relationships),&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f feeling distance or cut off from others, and&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f never feeling close to another person.&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f Negative self-concept&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f feelings of worthlessness and guilt.&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f While survivors of PTSD may feel &#8220;not myself&#8221;, a survivor of Complex PTSD may feel no sense of self at all or experience a changed personality; a few may feel as if they are no longer human at all (Lovelace and McGrady, 1980; Timerman, 1981).[1]:385-386.&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f Believing yourself to be &#8220;contaminated, guilty, and evil&#8221;&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f A fragmented identity is common, with Dissociative Identity Disorderoccurring in some people. [1]:386&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interpersonal Sensitivity:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>\uf06f feelings which are easily hurt<\/li><li>\uf06f anger\/temper outbursts&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f difficulties with interpersonal relationships.&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f Complex PTSD is normally the result of interpersonal trauma,\u2026anger and rage both at perpetrators and the self can only be fully expressed after the trauma ends.&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f loss of previously-held beliefs, with feelings of &#8220;being forsaken by both man and God&#8221;. [1]:382,386&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Affect Dysregulation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>\uf06f unable to manage your own emotions, referred to as &#8220;difficulties with emotional regulation&#8221;<\/li><li>\uf06f unexpressed anger and internalized rage<\/li><li>\uf06f self-destructive or reckless\/risk taking behaviors, [1]:382, [6]&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People with Complex PTSD also meet the diagnostic criteria for PTSD,which are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>\uf06f a persistent sense of threat, e.g. hypervigilance and being easily startled&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f avoiding reminders of the traumas<\/li><li>\uf06f re-experiencing or reliving the traumas<\/li><li>\uf06f flashbacks&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f intrusive thoughts about the trauma<\/li><li>\uf06f Increased risk of both self-injury and repeated victimization, for example:<\/li><li>\uf06f relationships with abusive people,&nbsp;<\/li><li>\uf06f sexual harassment<\/li><li>\uf06f rape. Reactions to a Trauma may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>\uf06f Feeling hopeless about the future<\/li><li>\uf06f Feeling detached or unconcerned about others<\/li><li>\uf06f Having trouble concentrating or making decisions<\/li><li>\uf06f Feeling jumpy and getting startled easily at sudden noises<\/li><li>\uf06f Feeling on guard and constantly alert<\/li><li>\uf06f Having disturbing dreams and memories or flashbacks<\/li><li>\uf06f Having work or school problems<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;B. Physical Reactions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>\uf06f Stomach upset and trouble eating<\/li><li>\uf06f Trouble sleeping and feeling very tired<\/li><li>\uf06f Pounding heart, rapid breathing, feeling edgy<\/li><li>\uf06f Sweating<\/li><li>\uf06f Severe headache if thinking of the event<\/li><li>\uf06f Failure to engage in exercise, diet, safe sex, regular health care<\/li><li>\uf06f Excess smoking, alcohol, drugs, food<\/li><li>\uf06f Having your ongoing medical problems get worse<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;C. Emotional:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>\uf06f Feeling nervous, helpless, fearful, sad<\/li><li>\uf06f Feeling shocked, numb, and not able to feel love or joy<\/li><li>\uf06f Avoiding people, places, and things related to the event<\/li><li>\uf06f Being irritable or having outbursts of anger<\/li><li>\uf06f Becoming easily upset or agitated<\/li><li>\uf06f Blaming yourself or having negative views of oneself or the world<\/li><li>\uf06f Distrust of others, getting into conflicts, being over-controlling<\/li><li>\uf06f Being withdrawn, feeling rejected, or abandoned<\/li><li>\uf06f Loss of intimacy or feeling detached<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>D.
